To prepare you and your coach for a rewarding birth experience, this class covers breathing and relaxation techniques, methods of induction/augmentation of labor, comfort measures, options in labor, Cesarean births, infant characteristics, and options in feeding your child. The class helps answer the age old question, “when do I come to the hospital”. We also cover how labor begins, what to look for, and when to come to labor and delivery. The end of the class focuses on common newborn behavior, feeding and sleeping patterns, basic newborn care, and selecting a healthcare provider for your baby. As part of the course, you will receive a 123-page guide which covers the birth process through the first year of life.

Please bring two bed-sized pillows to class and to dress comfortably.

This class is recommended for women in their 7-8 month of pregnancy.

NOTE: The January classes have been adjusted to a three-week course. Each night sessions runs from 6:30-9 pm in the Maternity Classroom on Blessed Beginnings on the following dates

  • Jan 17, 24 and 31.
