Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men after skin cancer. Keep an eye out for yourself by participating in our no-cost prostate screening on Wednesday, September 25, from 4-6PM.

The screening takes place at the Blessing Physician Services Urology office, located at Suite 303 in Blessing Health System East, at 927 Broadway in Quincy. Registration is limited to two participants every 10 minutes. Click the "register" button to get started with your registration.

Here are some facts you need to know:

  • Mainly older men and African-American men develop prostate cancer.
  • The average age at the time of diagnosis is about 66.
  • Prostate cancer may cause no signs or symptoms in its early stages.

In advanced stages it may cause signs and symptoms listed on the screen:

  • Frequent urination
  • Weak urine stream
  • Pain or blood during urination

Men with any of these symptoms should see their healthcare provider.  Other men should ask if prostate cancer screening is right for them.

Prostate cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed and treated at the Blessing Cancer Center. The Center’s treatment team includes Blessing’s specially-trained urologists, working in partnership with our medical and radiation oncologists, to develop treatment plans that meet the needs unique to each patient.
